As a druid you may notice a bit of a slow start when it comes to leveling, but you’ll quickly turn into arguably the faster leveler in the game. Whether you choose Balance or Feral you will do very well, as you still have the ability to heal yourself after combat. Even though Balance _works_ I’m not a big fan of it as not only is there a lack of good gear for moonkins, it is also well behind Feral leveling speed in just so many regards. Because of this I will only cover Feral leveling in this guide.
Being a melee class you’re quite gear dependant and unfortunately this can cost you quite a bit of gold. If you’re looking to solve this problem you can have a look at my Secret Gold Guide Review. In it you will find your gold concerns solved at any level range, with comprehensive money making at the maximum level.
Regardless of that, let’s go back to Druid Leveling. I assume you understand that restoration is NOT an option for leveling as it simply has no means of doing solid damage. If you want to heal dungeons you could go that route but I would highly recommend you simply go moonkin then as you don’t need a healer talent tree to heal most instances while leveling (once you hit 50+ you may want to reconsider though, unless you have the gear to make up for the lack of talents to boost your healing).
Anyway, let’s skip the gibberish and get into leveling your feral druid.
As in the introduction, druids are pretty poor at lower levels. This is mainly because 1-10 you are forced to smack stuff with your staff while casting spells, and 10-20 is spend in bear form which is meant for taking damage, not dealing it. Make no mistake though as you will still level very easily it’s just not very interactive.
To move onto the next topic, the key of a good feral leveling build is to have a good mix of damage talents for your cat form, while not neglecting all the survivability talents. You won’t be spending too much time in bear form, but the times that you are in bear form it’s most likely because you’re trying to stay alive and as you might realize dying really slows down your leveling.

As you can see I didn’t create a level 80 build. This is done to make sure you only get the talents that are good. Once you fill these talents in the tree you move to the restoration tree as it also has a wide variety of great talents for feral such as clearcasting, master shapeshifter and naturalist.
Now I’ll cover some of the talent choices. Unfortunately the talent choices aren’t too nifty until you start getting Feral Swiftness at level 20. Feral Swiftness is your first core talent, giving you some well needed dodge but more importantly an amazing 30% movement speed increase. This will allow you to move around quickly, be it before you get your mount or while you’re moving from one mob to the next. You will always get full benefit from this talent.
Survival Instincts and Thick Hide are picked up to keep yourself alive instead of wasting precious time corpse running. I’m a big fan of spending some scattered points in keeping yourself alive as not only is corpse running boring, it takes a lot of time as well. Especially Survival Instincts is great as you can use this in cat form as well.
Next we’ll start getting into some superb damage dealing talents. This is mainly Primal Fury as it gives you twice as many combo points when your critically strike with your combo points. This is especially powerful when soloing as mobs will die so quick that you don’t a long time to build them up.
I’ll now explain why I didn’t pick up Shredding Attacks. The reason for this is simple. Al though it is a must have if you’re dealing damage in a group or raid situation it is rather useless solo. Mobs die to quickly to bother setting it up so you can get behind them. On top of this is shred very dependent on effects such as bleeds and glyphs to deal good damage. Because of this you will be using Claw/Mangle as your main combo pointer builder with rake added in once per kill.
As we move in deeper we find more little talents that increase our attributes and attack power, leading to even more damage. This is until you finally hit level 40 and you can pick up mangle which will finally remove your silly claw attack. I don’t like the improved mangle though, as your damage rotation doesn’t use mangle enough for such a small energy cost to be worth it, nevermind how fast targets die anyway. Now you can move on to King of the Jungle which makes your tiger’s fury a very powerful ability. Once you get this talent don’t forget to use this whenever it is off cooldown as it’ll greatly speed up you kills.
Now we get into the bursty aspects of feral druids, namely through Rend and Tear. Your main attack being mangle, increases the bleeding damage the target takes while causing high damage. You will be using rake to have a bleed effect on your target and make no mistake, rake itself does tremendous damage. Now let’s have a look and Rend and Tear and remember that whenever a target has a bleed effect on it Ferocious Bite has an additional 25% chance to crit. With ferocious bite being your execute move of choice, having this much extra crit chance on it will speed up your kills significantly.
Now you’ll, surprisingly, move to the restoration to pick up some more talents to increase your damage. My personal favorite is clearcasting as it doesn’t just add a dynamic aspect to feral dps but more importantly gives you 0 energy cost abilities.
All in all the feral druid is an excellent leveler,which isn’t just because of its great killing speed but also because of the excellent mobility through Feline Swiftness, travel form, aquatic form and instant flight form. You can be sure that there will be others online who will be eager to join or even the computer can sometimes fill the role of your competition, so you have true freedom to play whenever works for you.
Of course, the cons of this are that you are not as social as with a real game and that you might end up wasting a significant amount of time. It is not healthy to get addicted to something of this nature because there are no intellectual or physical benefits to your body or mind.
In short, you can play games online and have a good time, but be wary of spending too much time doing such a thing. There can be too much of a good thing, so make sure to limit yourself and not get carried away.

I doubt you’re reading this guide with no idea who Joana is. Joana is a renowned powerleveler in World of Warcraft. They’re separated into 3 different bunches made up of a 1-70 version, a 70-80 version and the 1-80 version. This could be used by people that just want to get through 1-70 as quickly as possible while still discovering the joys of Northrend by themselves.
What also blew me away were his user testimonials. Sure, there are a few on the site and it’s always hard to trust those. The impressive part was that he has a myspace page and it’s full of comments from people that liked his guide. On top of this he has a whooping 2193 friends which I’m pretty sure will mostly be users of his guide, and that’s only the part that uses myspace or could be disturbed to do more than use his guide.

Many people complain about the long time it takes to level their WoW character from level 1-80. In my opinion, fast leveling is easy if you take a moment and think about it.
There are only a few things holding you back from gathering massive amounts of experience in a very short time.
First things first: Your character class and leveling spec. Some classes are better suited for fast leveling than others, of course. For example, hunters have their own pet which helps them a lot and Mages are natural born AoE damage dealers.
But no matter which class you desire to get to level 80 – you can always save a lot of time by choosing a proven leveling talent build. These talent specs emphasize the natural advantages of your class. For example, a very popular leveling build for the Mage is the Frost build. This build enhances the Mages ability to deal damage to a lot of enemies at the same time.
Another example is the Beast Mastery Hunter. When a hunter focuses on the Beast Mastery talent tree, the pet companion becomes very powerful. It’s like having your own tank by your side. This makes fast leveling very easy.
The second huge difficulty you have to overcome in order to increase your leveling speed is to find a good questing path.
Questing is the fastest way to gather experience, as everyone knows. But you can do quests both in an efficient and streamlined path and a random and chaotic path.
This is probably the greatest timesaver of all. But streamlining your questing path is a very difficult task. The only quick fix is getting a leveling guide add-on. Such an add-on provides you with an already tested, perfect questing path so you can literally fly through the levels.
Get a proven talent build and a leveling guide and you are ready to ding 80 in no time!
