What Console Should You Get?
Feb 15th, 2010 by admin

Sales

If you are basing it on sales alone then it has to be the Wii that gets the prize. From the opiniopn of someone that has owned all of Nintendo’s past consoles this has easily been their worst submission. So why is this?

The major reason why is simply because they do not give a damn about all of the past fans that made them money before the Wii, the majority of new games are aimed at idiots and Nintendo fans rarely see the light of day. Mario Kart Wii was at best disappointing as they seemed to take out everything that made Double Dash good. Mario Galaxy 2, nice one Nintendo, lets copy your previous ideas.

So as you can see the Wii is out of it.

Online and other

It cannot be said that the PS3 is a bad console with games such as Uncharted proving just how good the console can be. The online although it is free it is very poor and you always find yourself in a game with people unable to speak English. I do not understan why they did not add language filters? Sure the PS3 has Blu-Ray but that seems to be all that it has going for it.

It would certainly seem that the Xbox 360 has the best online service, the best games and the bettter experience. Do not get a Wii as although it is said to be for the entire family, the kids and you will get bored quickly. Getting a 360 or a PS3 is wise.

To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.

These Are The Games To Be Had In 2010(2)
Jan 29th, 2010 by admin

This is the finak part on those games that you simply must get next year.

Halo Reach

This game has got to be better than Halo 3: ODST as that was actually a very disappointing game indeed. Of course this is going to be the very last Halo game developed by Bungie as they have left Microsoft to do their own thing. However the rights of Halo still lie with Microsoft and they have created 343 Industries to handle future Halo projects. If any fans have read the Halo Reach book then it will no doubt be set around these events and I am thinking it is going to feature more of a squad type game play but this hasn’t been confirmed by Microsoft as of yet.

Final Fantasy XIV

This game is going to be the 14th in the series, surely it needs to finish soon. The game itself is of course coming out for the first time on a Microsoft platform which is something that Sony fans are not happy about at all. Apprently the battle and job systems have changed a lot since the previous instalment by putting in the new armoury system. Apprently the 360 launch will come a bit later than the PC and PS3 but of course it will be worth the wait.

2010 is going to be a big year for games with many not mentioned here on the way like the new call of duty. Toys and games are becoming really important every single year and many people are mistaken when they call video games boys toys. One of the best things you can do is actually sit down and find a toy review before you go out and buy something.

So there you have it, you can decide on what to get at the end of the day but make sure that when you do decide that you choose the right game.

Goozex Review: No Need For Gamestop
Jan 13th, 2010 by admin

Where do gamers go?

The choices you have as a gamer are:

  1. Buy (Online, Ebay, used, Gamestop..)
  2. Rent (Gamefly, blockbuster…)
  3. Trade (Goozex, Switchplanet..)

Renting in the past at your brick and mortar rental place can easily set you back more then $5-$7 every week like Blockbuster. Many places like Gamefly charge a monthly service fee. Renting is a solution but you spend more time with games than movies. There is a considerable larger amount of time invested in videogames then in movies. Most movies range from 1.5 hours to epics of 6 hours. Where most videogames you could get a good feel for a game in 3 hours but most sports games and long role playing games could be played for more then 70 hours.

This is where Goozex Game Trading steps in. Goozex allows the gamer to keep the game as long as you want but have the option to sell it too. There is only a $1 transaction fee if you request a game on their network. So basically you can trade in your older games and build up Goozex credit until you get enough for a newer title and just pay the $1 transaction fee. A shipping and handling is handled by sender and the buyer only pays . There is no monthly membership so you can stop at anytime or go at a slower pace. This is ideal in the sense that you could play the game until you are actually sick of it then send it in for credit. No hurry as you play and ship at your own pace. Plus you OWN the game. At that point it is yours.

You only send games directly to the next member. There is no single central warehouse and the pricing of the credits of the system are in points (100pts = $5). The pricing of the game is determined by market demand, release date, initial cost of the game, and a couple other factors. Most xbox 360 titles will go for 800-1000 pts which translates to $40-$50. This isn’t bad for a used game. You could probably save a little bit of money if you bought it at a used gaming store but then you would have to pay tax and actually go to the store. Goozex gives you free shipping to you with no tax charge. You can buy games directly but will cost you a premium but then again this money is locked in credits anyways. Price fluctuations occur and you can see the points swings. I’ve had a couple games I requested and I can see that price increase/decrease. It doesn’t happen that much but some games change +/- 200pts depending on market demand.

So why use Goozex instead of a used videogame store or an auction site with games like Ebay? You just need $1 to pay for the transaction fee. Most people don’t like to continually shell out more money for a game and then feel like the games they bought are depreciating at a very fast rate. Selling your game for cash anywhere will not give you that much. Brick and mortar stores resell your games for a huge mark up. Selling online is tiresome. Goozex at least you get to trade in games you are done with and still get some value out of it as it will lead to other games you really want. There might be more difficulty in sending older sports titles as those don’t have much demand once their season is up like trying to sending in EA sports Madden 2005 will be a hard game to sell to someone on the network. Older games on ebay are a hassle to sell. You can build your own game list and no insertion fees.

Lots of integrated information like tips and reviews. I love being able to see the supply and demand of each game. This will let you know if you have a game people want or if you can possibly get a game on the network. The system chooses who gets paired up. There is a waiting list that is generated and when you add a game you will see in what place you are waiting for that game. This is a fabulous idea as impatient gamers can tell if they should expect a game soon. There is also a distinction between games you want now and games you have for holding. Both will show you your place in line so you’re not forced to get every game you want now. This is a good way to build up a wishlist and then have your core set of games your really want now. It is ideal to have a very large set of games you want now so you will have a very good chance of getting a game soon. I was requesting Crackdown for the Xbox 360 and I was 60th person in line. I got this game in 14 days. Just because you’re really deep in line doesn’t mean you won’t get the game soon. The system can deliver newer games in a short amount of time which is a huge bonus for gamers that want to play newer games but don’t want to buy them at the store. You have many options to what you want to trade in terms of instructions, case or just game. This is helpful as some gamers tend to lose instructions and/or cases. The value of the game doesn’t go down as the credits don’t reflect what is included. This is because the user requesting the game can have the option to request only full packaged games, games with instructions, or just the game itself. I have not had a problem with getting full packages as I’ve gotten over 49 games and I’ve sent out 54 in under 2 years of being there.

Why NOT to use

For this site to be a perfect 5 star site I would like to see:

1. More users (will there ever be enough?)
2. More retro gaming console support (nes, snes, saturn….)
3. is still not free. I’m a member of another site that has no transaction fees yet still protects the members.
4. Sneak peak video game trailers
5. More user interaction like user reviews and tournaments…)

All the above are small tweaks to the system that is already very functional. The main reason someone would NOT want to use this system is time and money. If you have the dough you would just buy it new down the street? Why wait? The main draw to the site is how much money you can save and the community there. Save money and also connect with other gamers. If your very impatient then new release games will have to be purchased. I’ve experienced about 1-2 month turn around time for new games. Why? You are placed on a Que. The order of the Que determines when you get the new game, but more importantly is how many are available? Most will eventually get bored of their new game and will send them out as “have” games. The wait times do get long. Say you want a popular game that normally runs 40 hours to complete. You gotta factor in that a player like me would take over 1 month to beat a game like that. More popular games of course like Madden will hit the system quicker but that is also a bad thing. If you hold a game too long it will depreciate in value just like on the streets. Trading for early on might be for 1000 points but in a couple months with the market being saturated it could be 500 points in no time losing half of it’s value. Not entirely the fault of the system but some games just won’t move depending on your timing.

Current Goozex Simultaneous Transaction on the Network as of Mar 11, 2009 = 4793

New Class of Xbox 360 Accessories Here To Improve Xbox 360 Gaming
Dec 31st, 2009 by admin

You probably already know it, Xbox 360 Games offer some of the most incredibly immersive experiences anywhere, online or off.  With blockbuster titles like Halo, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Panzer General : Allied Assault, it’s tough to see what else could probably improve gameplay any more than the long way it’s already come.  Of course , it was not but 1 or 2 years ago that clunky old-school controllers continued to be used.  Today the user interface has improved noticeably, with on-board accelerometers to process spatial information for human kinetics in gaming. But something up coming may be the most revolutionary thing to hit videogaming at home in our time.

Xbox 360 games can be closely matched to Xbox 360 Accessories for the most seamless experience of really immersive gameplay.  But what if there were little need for any Xbox 360 accessories save one?One ueber-accessory to replace all of them?  Long the definition of science-fiction and comic books, this latest of Xbox 360 Accessories would also be the last.  It’d be the single thing needed to play all the Xbox 360 games made from then on.

Not heard of it?  That’s as it was only in the near past announced by Microsoft.  It is a electronic eye of sorts that may obliterate the requirement for physical controllers, hardware that’s held in one’s hand.  This new soon-to-come electronic eye will sense player movements in space, so hand held controllers with inbuilt accelerometers will no longer be mandatory.  This latest advance in gaming technology is due out inside the subsequent year or 2, and will be mounted separately from the console.  But all user movement information will be provided to the console just the same.  Attempt to imagine playing videogames with nothing more than your own body and body movements!

This veritable magic eye that Microsoft has been developing will even track eye movements to change point-of-view in a first-person shooter.  Imagine Halo or Call of Duty or gong of honour without pesky controllers but with instead a light gun and your own body and your own eyes!  As you turn right the screen capture reveals scenery to your right side, and as you turn left the panorama shifts with you!
So while today’s Xbox 360 games are quite advanced, the Xbox accessories to come will require software that rethinks the entire idea of onscreen and off.  Hardware and software exist in a symbiotic relationship, and it is going to be interesting to see what transpires next now the hardware has taken a quantum leap forward!

Progress Fast With Nintendo Wii Cheats
Dec 17th, 2009 by admin

The constantly increasing love of the Nintendo Wii has also witnessed an expanding search for Nintendo Wii cheats. Because gaming consoles such as the Wii have now become a major aspect of our lives, the necessity to complete the titles successfully has grown. But as you will without doubt know, ‘beating the game’ can be very hard, and so there’s no harm in moving ahead with a cheat or two.

However, there are some of players who use Nintendo Wii cheats to get an easy solution to getting stuck on a particular stage of a game. But what if these areas were created so that you do get stuck? The rationale could be that if you use your mind and imagination in attempting to solve the issue you could discover a whole new enjoyment to the game.

Fortunately, there are other kinds of Nintendo Wii cheats that you might wish to use. These cheats let you have fun whilst not necessarily altering the gameplay. These allow you to unlock special features that could be there in specific levels of the game. This is what is known as an ‘Easter Egg’ in gamer’s lingo and can add extra surprise and joy to the game.

Players are fully justified if you assert you want to play the title with complete liberty, without the shackles of having to complete one particular stage in order to progress on to the next. But in your desire to reach the end of the game, it would be smart to take care not to spoil the interplay with the game by using Nintendo Wii cheats.

Nintendo Wii was designed to supply interactive entertainment to gamers of all ages. Complex games for which you have to concentrate are not a part of the package as Wii concentrates on relaxing, not taxing your mind. So in the act of making a simple game even less complicated by using Nintendo Wii cheats you might be missing out on the nuances of the game.

To conclude, only employ the Nintendo Wii cheats where fully needed and enjoy the game to the end!

Speed Ahead With Our Mario Kart Wii Hints And Tips
Sep 30th, 2009 by admin

If you have attempted multiplayer Mario Kart Wii over WiFi, then you will stand with us when we say that it is one of the finest online gaming experiences you’ll ever encounter in this lifetime.  The excitement of fighting opposite rival players and racing against them throughout several courses is truly out of this world.

So how fun is a multiplayer game of Mario Kart Wii?

Imagine this : you are driving Mario’s fave go kart-style car, and you’re trailing at second position on the last lap.  You are gaining speed, and the rival in first position is in view.  You know you will be able to pip them on the following bend, as quick turn drifts are your skill.  The bend approaches,  you’re right at their tail.  You press on the gas and reverse at the same time.  You spin the wheel and drift right past them.

Such is the fun that may be had in a multiplayer match of Mario Kart Wii.  You will not be competing with the PC AI.  You will be fighting against real folks from varying parts of the planet.  They’re living, breathing, thinking players who will react in turn to the scenarios presented by each competition.  This makes every game tougher, and ultimately, more fulfilling.

Do you strive to become a master Mario Kart Wii player?  These are a collection of tips that will assist you enhance your game:

- Perfect the ‘rocket start.’ This is a crux of each Mario Kart game. Successfully performing the rocket start will give you an early edge in the round.  To perform the rocket start, press the accelerator button as quickly as the timer counts down to 2.  You want to perfect your timing however, as being inaccurate for a mere millisecond will downplay the skill.

- Collisions are bad.  As much as practical, avoid smashing into other racers as this will reduce your speed and it’ll take time before you work up to your peak once again.  Instead of racing side by side with opponents, attempt to trail them, so you’d know where they are.  Then overtake your opponent when your boost power is ready.  This way, you’ll be miles ahead of them and out of collision range when the boost fades.

- Either learn how to drift or find out how to ease off the gas button.  Most gamers are just impatient.  They need to step on the acceleration at most times and run over each and every trap in a track, including walls on corners.  However, you won’t be in a position to pull off most turns at top speed.  You will need to learn the way to drift or let go of the gas command to slow you down a bit, enough to make the acute turns found in Mario Kart Wii.

Nintendo Wii Cheat Codes For Music Games
Jul 2nd, 2009 by admin

Finding cheats for Wii music pretty much follow the same pattern as any other game. The difference is that for Wii music there are a ton of dedicated options to do some really cool things in the game. Just go to go Google and do a quick search and you will find many other sites offering Wii cheat codes. These codes will unlock a host of different options that can make your Wii music experience something different

There are quite a number of cheat codes I love to use. First up is a code that will put all your Miis in rapper style costumes. Did you ever want to see your friends and yourself as OGs? All you need to do is hold the B button and then up and the D Pad. After that hit start. This will launch all of the Miis in rapper gear. Other outfits that you can use codes to get include “Wii Music” t-shirts, tuxedos, DJ outfits, cat costumes, and karate gi’s. These are just a few of the costumes that you can open up using Wii music cheat codes. In addition there are many other unlockable items in the game. If you know what to exactly to look for than you can change the feel and look of the whole game totally. To get the best wii cheat codes for music you should look for a site offering a comprehensiv elisting of wii cheat codes. You will find numerous cheat code sites on the internet offering cheat codes for free. These sites will have codes not only for the music games but for a host of other titles as well.

Some people think that using these codes and other options is cheating, but I see it more as enhancing game play. How you see it is up to you but it can be fun to experiment and see what options are out there. Even if you are not the type to normally go looking for these kind of codes they can be fun to play around with.

Only few Wii owners know that they can play homebrew Wii games and also play every game from SNES, Sega Genesis, and N64. It is also possible to download ISO`s, DVDs, and Music. Unlocking your Wii for maximum entertainment is easy! For more information go to Unlock Wii

The Easy Way To Copy Nintendo Wii Games
May 31st, 2009 by admin

Many Nintendo Wii users have wondered whether they can copy Wii games.  We are going to look at exactly the way you can copy Nintendo Wii games.

If you need to produce of a copy of a Nintendo Wii disc, you aren’t able to do it with your common computer software.  The reason for this is that normal CD copying programs can’t interpret the information on video game discs.  It might sound funny, but your pc just doesn’t comprehend the information on the game disc initially.  You must have specific programs to do this.

You can now buy specialized video game copying softwares that have been developed to allow your computer to make sense of Nintendo Wii disks.  This makes it possible to burn Wii discs with your computer and burner.

We should mention that these programs are meant for people to make legal backup copies of video games.  If you buy a Wii game and you wish to make a copy to have a backup, then you are making use of this software legally.  We aren’t promoting any illegal burning of Wii discs..

It’s simple to utilize these programs.  Whenever you need to copy Nintendo Wii games you just put in the game, launch the software and it will begin to start the process.

You will simply insert the disc in your disk drive and your computer system will create an image of the game information.  After this, when you throw in a blank CD, your computer will burn the game to the disk.

It’s a good idea to look for a satisfaction guarantee when you do purchase a game burning program.  This just gives you some comfort on the rare chance the program isn’t working on your system.

Another important note - don’t spend too much!  This may be obvious - I’m sure you are looking for the best price.  Sadly we have seen some software cost over $95 - this is way too expensive.  The best program I’ve seen is far less than $50.

Beyond Wii: Emotiv Mind Games
Dec 15th, 2008 by admin

Playing Video Games with Your Mind  - Emotiv EPOC

Games like "Guitar Hero" and systems like the wildly popular Wii have ushered the era of the non-traditional video game controller. Now, a new invention takes that trend one step further, enabling individuals to play video games not with their hands but with their thoughts.

Emotiv EPOC: Playing Video Games with Your Mind

The rise in popularity of the Wii system and games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band points to an emerging trend in video games: the death of the traditional controller. Whereas games were once played primarily with the thumbs, they now are played with the entire body. A new invention takes this trend even further, enabling users to play games with their minds.

The Emotiv EPOC is a headpiece that allows video-game players to control the actions and emotions of characters through their thoughts. Rather than moving the hands, a person can just think about how they want a character to move and it will happen on screen. If a player smiles, their on-screen counterpart also will smile. The EPOC is designed to work with PCs and all game consoles - though a game must be created specifically for use with the device. To encourage integration of the headpiece, the company behind the EPOC, Emotiv Systems, has released free tools to game developers to help them incorporate the new technology.

Emotiv Systems was started by a couple of entrepreneurs, a chip designer and a neuroscientist with the goal of "introducing thought to the human-machine dialogue". They say that while they are concentrating on applying the technology to the video game industry right now, they believe eventually the technology will be used for a wide variety of purposes - from television to market research to security. According to Emotiv, their patent-pending neural processing technology makes it possible for computers to interact directly with the human brain.

The EPOC has three categories of detection: expressive, effective and cognitive. By expressive, Emotiv claims the EPOC can read and understand facial expressions (e.g. - smile, laugh, wink, crossed eyes, shock) and then recreate them on a character onscreen. By effective, they say the game adjusts dynamically for each individual’s experience - meaning music or sound can change based on how the headset reads a person’s emotions. And, by cognitive, they refer to a person’s ability to control actions on screen just by thinking about them.

Though it won’t be available until the end of the year, interested gaming enthusiasts can reserve EPOC headsets online at Emotiv’s Web site. The device goes for $300 and comes bundled with a game that puts the headset to use. Early adapters also get access to Emortal, an online portal that allows people to access and experience content through the headset. Designed as a spatial representation of a cityscape, users can walk though the city and discover games and other applications. They can also upload their own content, such as music or photos, and experience them through the headset.

Though the EPOC technology is filled with intriguing possibilities, it also may have an unexpected downside. While many are applauding the Wii technology for transforming video games into a more physical activity, the EPOC (if successful) may have the opposite effect: people won’t even have to move a thumb to play a game.

Nintendo Wii Games For Teenagers
Dec 10th, 2008 by admin

Most Popular Nintendo Wii Games For Teenagers

Teenagers seem to be the biggest group of consumers for the Nintendo Wii games. That is why so many of the them are distinctly marketed for them. As a parent it can be difficult to decide which ones they should be playing. They may like some that are rated E for everyone but chances are they will want more action.

Many with blood, shooting, and action in other forms are rated T for Teens as well as M for Mature. You will need to decide where you draw the line for each of your children. Finding out about some of the choices for the Wii in this category can help you to stay informed. Chances are though your kids in this age group will be telling you exactly what games they are the most interested in. Take the time to talk to them about them so you can get a good indication of what the options are.

The music games seem to really be impressing this age group. Of course this is the time when a career as a rock star or something else that is high profile and pays extremely well is still something they imagine. There are several Guitar Hero games with an newer version coming out later this year. It will allow more people than ever to play against each other at one time.

The Rock Band games are very popular with the teenagers who love to play the Nintendo Wii as well. This offers more instruments including the drums accessory that you can buy for them. Both of these types of games feature various songs by popular artists so take the time to explore what music your teen likes before you buy any of them.

Most teenagers are very active so they want to do it when they can. They really seem to like the Wii Fit and all the features it offers. They can spend time inside when it is cold out having a great time staying active. They can also compete against their friends in the various activities. The Wii Fit will help them to get stronger, get into shape, and even improve their balance. You can’t complain too much if your teenager is spending a great deal of time playing such games on the Wii.

Racing games are popular with any age group and that includes the teenagers. Some of them are getting very excited about getting a learners permit. Others already have their license. Yet being able to race Mario with the Mario Kart game is something completely different. Make it as much fun for them as you can by buying the steering wheel accessory for them to go with it.

Super Smash Brothers is another game with Mario in it that teenagers are very impressed with. You can choose from any of your favorite Nintendo characters including Sonic the Hedgehog. This is a type of duel events with each of the characters having their own powers and weaknesses. You will have to learn how to use the ones for the character that you are fighting with. At the same time though you will have to be prepared for the forces that your opponent is able to offer.

You will likely find that you also enjoy many of the same games as your teenagers. Take some time to play them with them. They will think you are very cool while you interact over Wii games. It can help bridge that generation gap that usually does occur. Teenagers often think they have all the answers and their parents are too old to understand. Some really fun times can come along when you spend time playing the Wii with your teenagers.

The cost of these popular Nintendo Wii games for your teenagers are going to vary. Some of them are only about $30 but the majority of them are about $60. The most expensive seems to be the Wii Fit for about $175 but that is one activity that is really worth the investment.
